On Friday, 14th December, the Catechism children from Standards 6-12 will have a retreat from 8.45 am to 12.30 pm. commencing with Holy Mass at 8.45 am in the Sacred Heart Church. Parents may collect their children after 12.30 pm. Due to the retreat the English obligation mass at 8.45 am will be held in Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
This year SIMBANG GABI – MISA DE GALLO (gal-yo), the Traditional Filipino Nine-Day Mass Devotion before Christmas, will be held daily as follows. From 15 December to 23 December 2018 at 9 pm and from 16 December to 24 December at 4.30 am. Both Masses will be held in the Sacred Heart Church.
The Filipino Community, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain, is conducting a HOLY WALK Marathon on Sunday, 16th December in Arad Park, Muharraq starting at 4.00 pm during the Bahrain National Day Celebration, with the aim of raising funds for the Construction of the Cathedral at Awali. Registration Fee is BD.4.000 per person inclusive of Snacks and a T-shirt. Registration Forms are available in Fr. Peter’s office. All are invited to participate in this worthwhile cause.
Monday, 17th December, is the Ordination Day of Fr. Charbel Fayad. A Thanksgiving Mass will be offered at 6.00 pm on that day. Let us participate and pray for his intentions.
The Christmas and New Year Mass Schedule is as below.
Priests will be available in the confessionals from Monday 17th to 20th December every evening from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm in the Sacred Heart Church. As we are in the season of Advent, parishioners are invited to make their confessions while the priests are available in the confessionals.
As the construction of the Cathedral has commenced, Pledge Cards have been made available to parishioners to support this cause. COLA members will be distributing Pledge Cards after obligation masses. Pledge cards can also be collected from the Spiritual Directors of the respective communities. Payment can be made at the COLA office located near the entrance of the office of the Parish Priest. Dear Parishioners, we look forward to your support towards the cathedral project.
This year, experience the true magic of the season at the Christmas Dinner Dance which will be held at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium on Thursday, 27th December commencing from 7.30 pm with 2 Live Bands, Still Waters and the Past Masters along with DJ Mac in attendance. There will be a special early bird prize, with the first 50 ticket holders entering the hall being included in a special draw with a large Christmas Hamper up for grabs. As there is limited seating, please ensure you get your tickets as soon as possible. Let us celebrate this Christmas as one big family of the Sacred Heart Church. On Tuesday 25th December, a free Christmas Day programme “Home away from Home,” for our parish domestic workers, will be held in Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon and from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. There will be Holy Mass followed by entertainment and distribution of Christmas gifts. Parishioners, we invite you all to please support this event by offering cakes, snacks, gifts, telephone cards or cash. Food items may be delivered on the day itself to Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium and gift articles may be handed over to the Parish Office. May God bless you for your generosity in sharing with others.
All those who are interested in becoming Multimedia/LCD Operators for obligation and daily masses are requested to give their names and contact details to the Parish Office. You will be contacted for a training session once a group has been formed. Basic computer knowledge is a requirement.
