ANNOUNCEMENTS – 5th, 6th and 7th April 2019

The Schedule of Holy Week and Easter services is displayed on the Parish Notice Board.

The First Friday Parish Holy Hour will be held on 5th April at 3.15 pm in the Sacred Heart Church and will be followed by the Stations of the Cross at 4.15 pm.

The Parish Lenten Mission in English led by Rev. Fr. Jose Kannampally, from Divine Retreat Centre, Potta will be held from Monday, 8th April to Thursday, 11th April in the Sacred Heart Church. On Monday and Tuesday the mission will commence at 6.00 pm with the evening mass. On Wednesday, 10th April the mission will commence at 7.00 pm. The last day Thursday 12th April, the Mission will commence at 6.00 pm with the mass and will end at 12 midnight.

On Wednesday, 10th April there will be only one English mass in the evening at 5.30 pm with the Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual help, followed by the Way of the Cross.

Palm Sunday will be celebrated on Friday 12th, Saturday, 13th and Sunday, 14th April. Palms will be blessed on Friday, 12th April before the 7.00 am mass at the outdoor stage. Palms will be distributed at all obligation masses. On Friday 12th April, the Parish Way of the Cross will be held in the church compound at 3.45 pm.

Lenten Alms Envelopes with your contributions may be dropped in the boxes labelled “Lenten Alms,” which are placed at the entrance of the Sacred Heart Church.

In preparation for the Holy Week, while the priests are available in the confessionals, parishioners are encouraged to utilize this opportunity to make their confessions.

The construction of the Cathedral has commenced from 4th November. Let us pray for the successful completion of this project with your support, prayers and assistance. To help us reach our goals, collection boxes have been placed at the main entrance of the church and each working individual of the family is requested to show their support by donating a minimum amount of BD. 2 each month. Thank you for your usual co-operation and may God bless you for your generosity.

The Wedding Anniversary Mass for April celebrants will be held on Saturday, 27th April at the 6.30 pm mass in the Sacred Heart Church. Celebrants, please register your names at the Parish Office by 23rd April.

On Thursday, 2nd May there will be a Malayalam Musical Nite titled “RAGASANDHYA” at Dr. Abdul Kalam Auditorium, Asian School. Tickets are limited and are available in the Church compound and with Fr Saji.  The collection generated will go towards the Cathedral.

Our parish is organizing a 17-day pilgrimage to Europe from the 5th of August. The countries include Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal.  Holy sites include St. Peter’s Basilica, St. Paul’s Church, The Catacombs which is the First Christian Cemetery in the world, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Padre Pio, St. Francis of Assisi, Lourdes, Fatima and Avila. An added bonus will be to Lanciano in Italy where the miracle of the Holy Communion took place. Those who need the entire itinerary and Registration Forms, please contact Fr. Xavier, Fr. The Christeen Retreat led by Fr. Jose and team, from Logos Retreat Center, Bangalore, will be held in our church from 29th June to 2nd July. This Retreat is compulsory for all Catechism Children from Standards 1-12. We request all parents to plan their annual vacation accordingly and fully utilize this unique opportunity for the children to attend this Retreat.

CFC Youth for Christ cordially invite all youth from 12 to 21 years of age to the 29th Youth Camp on 25th and 26th April, at Sacred Heart Church, St. Francis Rooms 14-16. The YFC Youth Camp is the entry point to the CFC – Youth for Christ program of Couples for Christ. It is a two-day activity where youth will have the opportunity to know and build Christian relationships with other young adults. Application forms are available from the CFC, Youth for Christ members and their Couple Co-ordinators or at the Parish Office.

The March edition of Charis Arabia is available in the Religious Gift Shop.

It has been observed that during Missions certain parishioners reserve the front pews for others, and those who come early are not able to occupy the seats. Kindly note that this is not permitted and that seating is on a first come, first served basis.
