On Friday, 11th October, the African Community will celebrate Africa Day from 7.30 am to 12 noon in the church compound. There will traditional African dances and display of traditional African artifacts, fabrics and foodstuff along with a Lucky Draw with lots of attractive prizes to be won. Proceeds from this event will go towards the construction of the new Cathedral. We invite all parishioners to come and participate.
Mission Sunday will be celebrated on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October in our parish. Our Holy Father encourages us to take an active part by praying for the missionaries and extending support through our contributions. The collection made on these days will be sent to the Vatican for Mission works. Envelopes will be distributed after each mass. Please enclose your generous contribution and drop them in the box kept at the entrance of the Sacred Heart Church and the Mother Church.
As part of the Sacred Heart Church 80 years Jubilee celebrations, the Sacred Heart Church will be organizing a Sports Festival, which will be held on Friday, 18th October at the Sacred Heart School Grounds, Isa Town from 8.00 am onwards. It will include a 6 A-Side Football Tournament for adults as well as children between the ages of 8 to 14. Track and Field events will be held for all ages. There will also be a Tug-O-War which is open to all ages, Ladies Long Throwball and a 4-A-Side fun Cricket Tournament. For more information, please refer to the Notice Boards. Entry Forms are available at the Parish Office. All entries close by 11th October or whenever the number of entries is filled.
There will also be a Food Festival organized by the Konkani community at the Sacred Heart School grounds on that day. We invite all Parishioners to be a part of the Jubilee celebrations by participating in the Sports and Food Festival.
Due to the Sports Festival on 18th October there will be no Catechism classes for parish children on that day.
Dear Parishioners, to commemorate the auspicious occasion of the 80th Anniversary celebrations; we will be launching a Souvenir in November 2019. We request your support for all the blessings you have received over the years by contributing your family or community photographs. A special booth is set up in the church compound where volunteers are ready to accept your photographs and answer any queries you may have. We kindly request those individuals who have contact details of organizations we can approach to please come forward and give the information to the individuals operating the 80th Anniversary booth. The third annual FAMILY DAY of the Catholic Church of our Lady of Visitation will be held on Friday 15th November at the Awali Grounds from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. We invite all parishioners to patronize this annual event and extend your support by buying or helping to sell Lucky Dip tickets priced at BD. 1 each. On that day, Bus services will be arranged from Sacred Heart Church to Awali and back again. All proceeds will go towards the Construction of the new Cathedral.
There will be a Marriage Preparation Course on Friday, 25th October in the St. Dominic Savio Hall from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm. Those who wish to attend this course are to register their names at the Parish Office and submit their Baptism Certificate along with the Application Form before 23rd October. The course fee is BD. 7/- per person, inclusive of lunch and the Certificate.
Wedding Anniversary Mass for October celebrants will be held on 26th October at the 6.30 pm mass in the Sacred Heart Church. Those celebrating their wedding anniversary in the month of October, may register your names in the parish office by 24th October 2019.
