On Friday, 18th October as part of the Sacred Heart Church 80 years Jubilee celebrations, there will be a Sports Festival at the Sacred Heart School Grounds, Isa Town commencing from 8.00 am onwards. Arrangements have been made for transport, which will leave the Art & Craft Centre Bus Stop at Al Zubara Avenue at 8.15 am, 9 am, 10.30 am, 2 pm, and 3.30 pm. Buses will return to Manama every half an hour until 5.30 pm. As it is a fun day out for the entire family, we invite all parishioners to be a part of the celebrations by supporting the parish communities in this celebration.
Due to the Sports Festival being held on Friday, 18th October, there will be no Catechism classes for parish children.
Pope Francis has declared October 2019 as the Extraordinary Mission Month with the theme “Baptized and Sent: The Church of Christ on Mission in the World.” To commemorate this Extraordinary Mission Month, Jesus Youth Bahrain will conduct a Mission Rosary on Saturday, 26th October after the 6:30 pm mass. This Rosary will be prayed for the continents, missions and missionaries. Your participation is encouraged.
Fr. Peter Eugenio celebrates his Ordination Day on Sunday, 27th October. A Thanksgiving Mass will be offered on that day at 5.30 pm in the Sacred Heart Church. Let us join and pray for his intentions.
Mission Sunday will be celebrated in our parish on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October. Our Holy Father encourages us to take an active part by praying for the missionaries and extending support through our contributions. The collection made on these days will be sent to the Vatican for Mission works. You may enclose your generous contribution in the Mission Sunday envelopes which have been distributed, and drop them in the box labeled ‘Mission Sunday’ which is kept at the entrance of the Sacred Heart Church and the Mother Church. Posters on Missionary work prepared by Catechism children will be on display in the church compound.
To commemorate the auspicious occasion of the 80th Anniversary celebrations, we will be launching a Souvenir in November 2019. We request your support for all the blessings you have received over the years by contributing your family or community photographs. A special booth is set up in the church compound where volunteers are ready to accept your photographs and answer any queries you may have. We kindly request parishioners who have contact details of organizations we can approach to get support for the souvenir, to please come forward and give the information to the individuals operating the 80th Anniversary booth. There will be a Marriage Preparation Course on Friday, 25th October in the St. Dominic Savio Hall from 7.30 am to 5.00 pm. Those who wish to attend this course must register their names at the Parish Office and submit their Baptism Certificate along with the Application Form before 23rd October. The course fee is BD. 7/- per person, inclusive of lunch and the Certificate.
A Food Festival organized by the Konkani Community will be held in the church compound on Friday 25th October from 7.30 am to 1.00 pm. A variety of Goan, Mangalorean and other Indian dishes will be available. The Food Festival is to support the activities of the Konkani Community. Kindly patronize.
The Catechism Ministry of our Parish will be celebrating Catechism Fun Day 2019 on 1st November in the church compound from 7.45 am to 2 pm with games and food stalls. Kindly patronize.
The third annual Family Day of the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Visitation will be held on Friday, 15th November at the Awali Grounds from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. We invite all parishioners to patronize this annual event and extend your support by buying or helping to sell Lucky Draw tickets priced at BD.1 each. On that day, bus services will be arranged from Sacred Heart Church to Awali and back again. All proceeds will go towards the Construction of the new Cathedral.
A one-day programme in English is being organised for all the nurses of our parish on Saturday, 16th November from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. We encourage the nurses of all language groups of our parish to make use of this opportunity and be blessed. Registration will commence from next week, after all the obligation masses. The registration fee will be BD. 2/- per person. Please refer to the poster in the compound for more details.
