ANNOUNCEMENTS – 11TH, 12TH & 13TH OCTOBER 2024

  1. The Annual Priests’ meeting of the Northern Vicariate will take place in Bahrain from October 14th to 17th. During this time, only English masses will be held, with no other language masses. On October 15th, His Excellency Aldo Berardi the Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia along with the priests of the Vicariate celebrate the 6:30 PM Mass, followed by the blessing of the new residence “St. Arethas’ Manzil” for guests and visiting priests.
  2. October is the month of the Holy Rosary. During the month of October, the Holy Rosary will be prayed every day at the Grotto 40 minutes before the evening mass. We encourage you to pray the Rosary daily in your homes.
  3. October has traditionally been the month of the mission. All the faithful are reminded and invited to awaken their missionary spirit through prayer, witness and contribution. This year, in the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia, we will celebrate World Mission Sunday on Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday, 20th October.  During these 3 days, the collection made during mass and envelope monetary collection will go to the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of Faith. A mission for all requires commitment of all. Envelopes will be distributed after each mass. Please enclose your generous contribution and drop them in the box kept at the entrance of the Sacred Heart Church.
  4. The Sacred Heart Church will be conducting Piano Classes for children and adults of all ages under the guidance of Mr. Wilbun Frank Rodrigues. Classes will be conducted twice a week and charges will be at BD 25 per month with a one time registration fee of BD 5. For more details please refer Parish notice board or contact the Parish office.
  5. On Saturday, 12th October after the 6.30 PM Massthere will beprocession of the Holy Relic of St. Arethas from the main church to the Priests’ Chapel, then proceeding to Awali Cathedral.  All are invited to attend.
  6. As we conclude the Jubilee year of St. Arethas and Companions, there are commemorative coins of St. Arethas and Our Lady of Arabia available at the Parish Office and in the Religious Gift Corner. This coin has the image of St Arethas on one side and the image of Our Lady of Arabia on the other. Priced at BD10 per piece, the income generated from selling the same will be used towards the construction of our Bishop’s House.
  7. The Jesus Youth Outreach Ministry in our parish is organizing a cricket tournament “Koinonia Cricket League” for parishioners on November 8th, 15th and 16th. The registration fee is BD25. For more information and registration, please visit the Jesus Youth Help Desk…
  8. On Thursday, October 24th we are celebrating the Feast of St. Arethas & Companions at 6.30 PM mass. Soon after this mass, *“Finding Life in Christ” – A Play Honoring St. Arethas & Companions *will be presented by Catechism Ministry at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium. All parishioners are invited to attend.
  9. Dear Parishioners, October 25th, Friday, will mark the conclusion of the St. Arethas and Companions Jubilee Year. Everyone is invited to the Closing Pontifical Mass at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia, it will be celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi and all the priests.
    Due to the Jubilee mass at the Cathedral, there will be only one mass in the morning at 7 AM in the Sacred Heart Church and all other morning masses remain cancelled. The evening mass at 5 PM and other language masses will proceed as usual.
  10. In preparation for the Closing of the Jubilee Year and Holy Door, there will be 9-day regular Holy Door Pilgrimage in the Cathedral accompanied by the Priest, commencing on 15th October to 23rd October right after the 7 PM Holy Mass.
  11. We are extremely delighted to welcome everyone at the Cathedral to a Musical Concert performed by the Little Singers of Paris, from France on Saturday, 26th October from 5 PM to 7 PM. The entrance is free of charge.
  12. The Handing on Faith will be held on Friday, 8th November at 10:30AM in Sacred Heart Church. Due to this mass, the regular Youth Mass will take place at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium.
  13. The Wedding Anniversary Mass for October celebrants will be held on Saturday, 26thOctober at the 6.30 PM Mass. During the mass, celebrants must occupy the pews reserved. Registration along with a fee of BD.1 is required and celebrants must be present at Mass to receive the Certificate. Last date to sign up is Friday, 25th October.
