1. We welcome Major Archbishop Raphael Thattil who will be in Bahrain from 16th November to 18th November. There will be a Malayalam mass on Saturday, 16th November at 6.00 pm in the Sacred Heart Church, which will be celebrated by him. Due to this mass, the regular English obligation mass will be shifted to Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium and the Konkani mass will be at St. Padre Pio Social hall at 6.30 pm.
2. The Handing on Faith will be held on Friday, 8th November at 10.30 am in Sacred Heart Church. Due to this mass, the regular Youth Mass will take place at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium.
3. The next Pre-Baptism Seminar will be held on Wednesday, 13th November from 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm at the Audio Video Room. For registration, parents and godparents are requested to visit the Parish Office. This seminar is only for parishioners and expectant mothers too may register. Please be on time and do not bring children.
4. There will be a Marriage Preparation Course on Friday, 15th November at the Audio Video Room from 7.45 am to 5.00 pm. Those interested in attending are requested to register their names at the Parish Office and submit their Baptism Certificate, recently issued for marriage purposes along with the date of Confirmation before 14th November. The Certificate is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. The course fee is BD. 8/- per person, inclusive of lunch and the Certificate. Late comers will not be accepted for the course.
5. On Saturday, 16th November, we celebrate the Anniversary of the Ordination Day of Rev. Fr. Saji Thomas, the Rector of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia. Let us keep him in our prayers.
6. There will be a Parish Advent Retreat in English led by Fr. Danny Capuchin from Monday, 18th November to Thursday, 21st November after the evening mass at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Due to the Parish Advent Retreat, on Wednesday, 20th November there will be one Mass in the evening at 6.30 pm followed by Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. All parishioners are invited to attend.
7. We celebrate the Memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Thursday, 21st November.
8. On Friday, 22nd November there will be Family Day at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Arabia from 8.00 am to 9.00 pm. All are welcome.
9. The Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Universal King, will be celebrated on Friday 22nd, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November.
10. To celebrate the Feast of St. Cecilia, the Patroness of the Musicians, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Music Ministry would like to invite all the choir members from different communities to renew their commitment on Thursday, 28th November at the 6:30 pm Mass.
11. The Konkani Community will be celebrating the feast of St. Francis Xavier on the 6th of Dec 2024. Flag hoisting will be held on 26th November, and Novenas will commence on 27th November. Feast celebrations on 6th December will begin with the blessing of the relic at the outdoor stage at 8:00am followed by mass. All are cordially invited.
12. In preparation for the Feast of St. Francis Xavier, the Konkani Community is organizing a Football Fiesta on Friday, 22nd November at the Indian Club with a six-a-side men’s football tournament and four-a-side men’s and women’s penalty shoot-out. Please refer to the banner displayed in the compound for further details.
13. The Catechism Ministry will have Competitions for all the children of the parish studying in Grades 1 to 12 on Friday, 15th November and Saturday, 16th November. The Competitions entry forms are available with Catechists, at the Catechism office and at the Parish Office. The Entry Forms may be submitted at the Catechism office every day from 6:00pm to 7: 30 pm, and on Friday from 8 am to 11:30 am only. Last date to submit the forms is 10th November 2024. Kindly refer to the banner for the competitions and timing.
14. There will be a Christmas Carol Singing Competition, open to all parishioners of the Church and Cathedral, on Thursday, 5th December at 7.30 pm at the outdoor stage in the Sacred Heart Church compound. Registration, for 10 groups only, has commenced and Registration Forms are available at the Parish Office. Last date for submission is 30th November.
